Day 9 - Valentine Madness

Oh, I'm having fun now!  I know it's only January 10, but before you know it Valentine's Day will be here and so I'm playing around with different ideas.  Around the first of this month I posted a valentine mostly done with punches and today I'm using my newest die - Fun Flowers and the Lots of Love letterpress!

I made the design on the background paper with the letterpress and the Big Shot.  This did not do a deep impression, but rather just gave me a good impression, which is what I was looking for in this application.  I used the newest die (same as yesterday) for the flower and added a small heart in the center of the finished flower.  I used Pirouette Pink and Real for my colors along with Whisper White.  I just heard the other day that red is the only color family that every color in it will blend together.  One of the White House Christmas trees was decorated in all shades of red from the palest pink to the brightest of reds and it was gorgeous.  So, I took this Valentine opportunity to use two of my favorite colors. I may do this again and use the red and pink for the flower and see how it looks, the possibilities are endless!

I rolled the petals with a bone folder to give them the added dimension and tied a ribbon around to spice it up a bit.  I hope you enjoy this card and come back tomorrow to see what I've made next.  This every day crafting is really a lot of fun - way more than I thought and it's also very stimulating for the creative side of my brain!  I'm already thinking about the possibilities  - got to run - I think I've got an idea!

Supplies:
Paper: Real Red, Pirouette Pink, Whisper White
Ink:  Read Red (Craft)
Die:  Fun Flowers
Ribbon:  Read Red 5/8" Satin
Lots of Love Letterpress (Occasions Mini Catalog)
Heart to Heart Punch (small heart)

Until tomorrow - happy crafting!

Day 8 - Fun Flowers

Today I have had some fun with my new goodies from Stampin' Up and you will be seeing samples over the next few days. The card I  made today used a new die called Fun Flowers.  It's a Bigz die so it will cut a variety of papers and other materials.  It's going to be a fun die for fabric too, but today I started with cardstock and made a card. the die has three petal shapes and two different centers. I rolled the edges up with a bone folder to give them dimension and highlighted the petals and center with a gold flecked ink.

Supplies:
Papers: Night of Navy, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White,
             DSP (Hostess Pack  retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Stamp: With All My Heart
Punch: Oval Scallop
Big Shot
Twinklette Pen - Gold (Not Stampin' Up! ) used for highlighting on petals

Thank You Bookmark (Creation #6)

I needed to send out some thank you cards and decided to make some bookmarks!  I hate that a card just goes in the trash or in a box, so I cam e up with something everyone can use.

Supplies:   Pear Pizzaz and Whisper White paper
                Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon
Because I Care  and Occasional Quotes stamp sets
                Clear Embossing Powder/Versa Mark Pen

After stamping the flower with Pear Pizzas ink, I used the Versa Mark Pen on just some of the little flowers and petals and the leaves.  I sprinkled clear embossing powder and used the heat gun to set.

Write your note on the back and drop it in the mail!  Easy peasy!

Happy Stampin'

Good Morning Day 6

I wish I had thought to start this challenge on the first like I did the intentional moving - it always seems now like I'm a day behind!  But for creating and blogging I'm right on schedule.  I haven't yet completed a new item to post, but I did want to mention that I need encouragement from my followers!  A comment now and then even if you don't like my post will still be welcome!
