I've always been a card maker, but this year not so much! And so even though I will give my Mr. Wonderful a small card, it won't be the highlight!I actually have baked him a peach pie and cut the crust for the top in the shape of a heart! How romantic am I?
Now for some of you this may not be a big deal, but we don't eat sweets including fruit so this is a major treat! Not to mention that baking is not one of my creative gifts, so that will make it special too! Looks pretty good to me if I do say so myself. Bet he thinks so too!
And he surprised me this morning with a fun card from him, an adorable card from Jack (our dog) and the coolest sock monkey ever!! I love stuffed animals and I really love sock monkeys, so WOW is this cute or what?
Only problem, Jack thought it was for him. Now, convincing him it's mine and not his, well that's going to be a whole other story.
And for the icing on the cake (that doesn't really sound right) maybe I should have said our very special valentine was this picture of our great grandson! I know you can't read his shirt, but this was a gift as soon as he was born from Grandpa Billy (my Mr Wonderful) and it says, "When I grow up I'm going to drive a Corvette (picture of red vette). And he's grown into it! Can't tell you how excited Bill was when he saw this picture. His granddaughter knows just the right way to his heart!
I feel very spoiled right now and hope everyone has had as great a day as I've had, feeling loved from all directions. What I am reminded of is that this is a man made holiday and some of us are alone and maybe feeling left out and lonely, I hope they remember that we're never really alone. God is always with us and He is the only one who really loves us just as we are and forever!
